Hermann Schmidt GmbH & Co KG is a family-run company in Essen with around 70 employees and is one of the most important suppliers to the German specialist wholesale trade for building services/sanitary and heating. Three pillars still form the basis of its success today:

The production of fittings and valves, export to the most important international markets and the function as a factory representative for German and foreign manufacturers of high-quality products for domestic installations.

Your tasks

  • Supporting your team on the road to success
  • Technical and disciplinary management of the scheduling team
  • Conducting regular feedback meetings
  • Monitoring and controlling scheduling - Developing solutions in the event of delivery delays
  • Improving delivery reliability, planning optimal order quantities and ranges in the supply chain
  • Disposition for selected main product group
  • Vacation and sickness replacement in the team
  • Close cooperation with colleagues from product management, accounting and sales
  • Responsibility for compliance with the purchasing strategy and internal guidelines

Your qualification

  • Successfully completed training in wholesale and foreign trade management, industrial clerk, freight forwarding clerk or a comparable qualification (m/f/d)
  • As a team player with a strong organizational talent, you think analytically and work in a solution-oriented manner, and you are characterized by a hands-on mentality
  • You are communicative, open-minded and keep a cool head even in stressful situations
  • You have already gained initial management experience and enjoy working with people
  • Several years of professional experience in the international procurement of commodities as well as in ship handling / container procurement including customs clearance
  • Good knowledge of English, other languages also welcome
  • Confident handling of MS Office, especially Excel and ERP systems
  • A high degree of initiative, resilience, flexibility and the ability to work in a team
