The company
Hermann Schmidt GmbH & Co KG is one of the most important suppliers to the specialist wholesale trade for building services, plumbing and heating, employs around 70 people and is based in the heart of the Ruhr area, in Essen.
The success of the third-generation family-run company is no coincidence. After the Second World War, the company founder Hermann Schmidt settled in Essen and initially set up a factory agency for products in the sanitary and heating sector. In 1961, the company also developed its own business for pipe connection parts, and later also for fittings under the HS brand.
Since the beginning of 2010, the company has been developing into the manufacturer of its most important products. At the Berlin Technical Center, our engineers develop new products, create technical drawings, take care of prototype construction and obtaining the necessary certifications, and finally monitor series production. These products are sold under the following brand names:
The hub for all products is our warehouse in Essen-Kupferdreh. Around 5,000 items are stored on an area of approx. 18,000 square meters. Thanks to its well thought-out warehousing, Hermann Schmidt ensures a flexible and fast supply of components for the plumbing and heating sector in line with demand.
To this day, three pillars form the basis of the company’s success: the manufacture of sanitary and heating products, exports to the world’s most important markets and the factory agency business, i.e. the sale of high-quality products for German and foreign manufacturers for domestic installations.
To ensure optimal support for customers in the trade, Hermann Schmidt relies exclusively on the sales channel of specialist wholesalers: a reliable partner for successful long-term business relationships.
Donation to the
Franz Sales Haus
After the flooding in large parts of North Rhine-Westphalia and the south of Essen, we had a little cheering up for some of those affected:
Franz Sales Haus writes on Facebook:
Great campaign! The company Hermann Schmidt from Kupferdreh has donated jerseys from the 2014 national soccer team to our workshop at Hinsbecker Löh. Both companies are affected by the flooding from the Deilbach. Thank you very much for this lovely surprise and encouragement! 👍 ⚽ 👍
